I am a twenty-something, married woman from the Garden of
England who has a passion for writing, loves cat memes and has a teddy called
Ben. I have been writing these blogs for
two years and have thoroughly enjoyed writing them, even though my grammar is
shocking at the best of times! I joined
my hobby (and, hopefully, talent) with my desire to improve awareness of mental
health and the stigma attached to it. I
write novels too, I like a challenge I suppose.
So it’s fairly obvious from my blogs that I have depression
and have recently beaten panic disorder.
Yep. Unlike the last version of
this page I shall not dominate this on what I suffer from, what I take and blah
blah, because depression is an illness, it does not define who I am.
And that said, I stand up to mental health awareness and
stigma. I have, and will continue to,
challenge people’s views on mental health and the people it affects. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not constantly out
looking for an argument! We live in a
more tolerant society where this topic, and many others, can be debated in a
way that can, and should, change the views and opinions of everybody and, one
hopes, improve the lives of those who suffer.
It is probably well assumed that this is something that
means a lot to me. However, my other
passions are music, knitting, learning, nagging, good films and coffee (milk,
two sugars, please). My favourite place
to be is in the beer garden, on a hot British summer day, sipping ice cold
cider with my good friends and husband.
And speaking of husband, here's my best friend and love of my life
